What goes into a charter price.
A charter is priced for the whole aircraft. The calculator takes the distance between the two airports, adds taxi and climb time and any fuel stops, and multiplies the flight time by the hourly rate for each jet size. Short hops are billed at a minimum of 1.5 hours.
Rates come from FOCA-licensed operators, sourced and checked by Altivo Jets. In Switzerland, any VAT and airport fees is added to the quote as a separate line. The result is a range because two aircraft of the same size can differ in age, cabin and where they are based.
For example, Geneva to London is about 407 nautical miles, roughly 1h 16m in a light jet, which puts a one-way trip at about CHF 5.7k to CHF 9k.

Five things that move a quote.
- Positioning. If the nearest suitable aircraft is based elsewhere, the flying time to reach you and return home is usually charged.
- One way or return. A same-day return can avoid empty positioning; a multi-day trip adds crew overnight costs.

It uses the straight-line distance between the main airports, typical cruise speeds for each jet size and Altivo Jets' current hourly rates, with a minimum of 1.5 billable hours per trip. Your quote is for your exact dates, aircraft and routing, including positioning and airport charges.
How much does a private jet cost per hour in Switzerland?+
For the whole aircraft, before taxes: light jets CHF 3.8k to CHF 6k, heavy jets CHF 9.8k to CHF 15.3k, with turboprops, midsize and super-midsize jets in between. The price is per aircraft, not per seat, so the cost per person falls as your group grows.
Why is a one-way flight not half the price of a return?+
If the aircraft has to fly back to its base empty, that positioning time is usually charged. A return trip on the same aircraft can avoid it, and so can an empty leg that is already flying your way.
Are taxes included in the estimate?+
The hourly rates are before any VAT and airport fees, which appears as a separate line on your quote.
What else can change the final price?+
Positioning the aircraft to your departure airport, overnight crew costs on multi-day trips (typically about CHF 980 per night), airport landing and handling charges, peak dates, catering and any special requests. Every item is listed on the quote before you sign.
