Getting to the Parque do Peão
Fly into Barretos Chafei Amsei Airport (SNBA), which has a 1,800 m asphalt runway about 4 km from downtown, or into Ribeirão Preto or São José do Rio Preto. Helicopters can land at the two heliports inside the Parque do Peão.
Barretos sits 425 km by road from São Paulo. The rodeo has run since 1956, and the 2026 edition recorded about a million visits over its 11 days.
The Parque do Peão covers about 2 million m², with a rodeo arena designed by Oscar Niemeyer. In 2026 about 3,500 competitors took part across nine events, alongside 120 music acts. Chitãozinho & Xororó are the 2027 ambassadors.
The organisers say air traffic is heavy during the festival. The park's two heliports, approved by the aviation authority, serve passenger flights and sightseeing; the organisers' heliport guidance for 2027 had not been published on 19 October 2026.
