How event travel works in Italy
Milan Linate is the closest business aviation airport for both Monza and the Salone del Mobile, with Malpensa and Bergamo as alternatives. Milan Fashion Week also uses Linate and Malpensa. For the Venice Film Festival and the Biennale, jets land at Venice Marco Polo and a water taxi crosses the lagoon. For the Palio di Siena, Florence and Pisa are the main airports.
Italy's big event weeks fill airport parking before they fill hotels. The trips that go smoothly confirm parking and slots as soon as the dates are fixed.
For Monza and the Salone, Milan's airports carry the load, and in 2026 Malpensa runway works were expected to shift traffic to Linate during Design Week. In Venice, Marco Polo limits parking to 24 hours during the film festival, and in summer 2026 it allowed quick turns only from May to September; Florence was usually quick turns only and Pisa allowed up to 72 hours. Many aircraft drop and reposition.

The 2027 F1 calendar is provisional. 2027 is an Architecture year at the Biennale; there is no Art Biennale in 2027.

Is there a Venice Art Biennale in 2027?+
No. 2027 is the 20th Architecture Biennale, from 8 May to 21 November. The 61st Art Biennale runs until 22 November 2026.
When is the Palio di Siena in 2027?+
Friday 2 July and Monday 16 August 2027, the fixed dates each year, in Piazza del Campo.
Which Milan airport is best for events?+
Linate is closest to the city, Monza and the fair. Malpensa takes long-haul jets, and parking at all Milan airports tightens in event weeks.
