How event travel works
Yes. Silverstone, Cheltenham, Aintree, Ascot, Goodwood and Glastonbury all handle helicopter arrivals through designated landing sites, usually with slots booked in advance. Jets land at the nearest business airport and a helicopter or car finishes the trip.
Big events squeeze everything at once: landing slots, helicopter availability, airport parking and crew hotels. The trips that go smoothly are booked when the date is fixed, not the week before.
For most UK events a helicopter does the last leg. You fly from London's Battersea heliport, a business airport or a hotel lawn to a landing site run for the event, and a car or buggy takes you to the gate.
For Monaco and other European events, a jet flies you to the nearest airport, Nice in Monaco's case, and a helicopter or car completes the trip. Every flight is operated by a CAA-certified operator named on your quote.

Where London helicopter trips start
Most London event flights leave from the London Heliport at Battersea, or from a business airport such as Farnborough, Biggin Hill or Oxford if you are flying in by jet first. Twin-engine helicopters such as the Leonardo AW109 are the usual choice for race days, because they seat five or six and fly the London routes that single-engine types cannot.
Helicopter charter in the UK runs at about £1,200 to £3,500 per flight hour for the whole aircraft, before positioning and landing fees. Event days carry waiting time and landing slots, so ask for an all-in price.
