Why fly to Silverstone
About 25 minutes from the London Heliport at Battersea, according to Air Charter Service, which estimates a saving of 5 to 8 hours of traffic on a return trip.
Silverstone sits about 90 minutes north-west of London by road, and race-week traffic builds from Friday. Helicopters remove the road from the plan.
Helicopter demand is consistently high in race week, so business aviation planners advise securing the helicopter as soon as the airport and schedule are fixed. Parking for jets also fills early, particularly at Luton.
We book the helicopter, the landing at Silverstone and, if you fly in by jet, the airport and parking, with the operator named on your quote.

Where London helicopter trips start
Most London event flights leave from the London Heliport at Battersea, or from a business airport such as Farnborough, Biggin Hill or Oxford if you are flying in by jet first. Twin-engine helicopters such as the Leonardo AW109 are the usual choice for race days, because they seat five or six and fly the London routes that single-engine types cannot.
Helicopter charter in the UK runs at about £1,200 to £3,500 per flight hour for the whole aircraft, before positioning and landing fees. Event days carry waiting time and landing slots, so ask for an all-in price.
