What a group charter is
You hire the whole aircraft for your group and set the route and timing. Up to 19 people fit a large business jet; bigger groups fly on a regional jet or an airliner operated by a UK airline with its own Air Operator Certificate, such as Titan Airways at Stansted.
Group charter is the same idea as private jet hire, scaled up: one customer, one aircraft, your schedule. The aircraft size follows the headcount and the bags.
For up to 19 passengers, a heavy jet keeps the group together in a business-jet cabin. Above that you move to airliners, flown by carriers that sell whole-aircraft charters to companies, sports teams and governments.
Titan Airways, based at London Stansted, is one example: it flies ad hoc passenger charters for corporations, governments and the sports and entertainment sectors, with Airbus A320, A321 and A321LR aircraft and an Embraer E190.
Altivo Jets compares carriers, names the operator on your quote and gives an all-in price for the aircraft, including Air Passenger Duty and airport charges.
