How the trip works
Geneva (LSGG) for most flights: direct InterRegio trains run every half hour from Geneva Airport station through Montreux, and a chauffeur takes you door to door. Sion (LSGS), up the Rhône valley, suits guests staying in the Valais, and the festival runs late-evening trains back to Sion.
Switzerland Tourism puts the crowd at nearly 250,000 spectators a year. The paid concerts are in the Auditorium Stravinski and the Montreux Jazz Lab, with free stages along the lake; the festival returned to the renovated Convention Centre for its 60th edition in 2026.
Parking in Montreux is limited during the festival, and the Grand-Rue closes to private traffic every evening, so plan drop-off points with the chauffeur. The festival's official limousine partner runs around the clock.
Hotels on the Riviera fill early in July, so book rooms with the flight. See our Geneva and Sion pages for routes and estimates.
