Private jet to the Paris Air Show

The 56th Paris Air Show runs from 14 to 20 June 2027 at Paris Le Bourget, the airport most private flights to Paris use. During the show the airfield closes for the flying displays and parking is restricted, so many visitors land elsewhere.

Overview

How the trip works

Can I fly a private jet into Le Bourget during the Paris Air Show?

Only with planning. At the 2025 show, Le Bourget closed to aeroplanes during the flying displays, parking was reserved for show aircraft and based operators, slots were limited, and crews and aircraft needed accreditation at least seven days ahead. Pontoise, Charles de Gaulle, Orly and Albert-Picardie were used as alternates.

The Paris Air Show is held in odd-numbered years and organised by GIFAS, the French aerospace industry body. It opens with four professional days, then to the public from Friday to Sunday.

In 2025 the organisers took about a third of the ramp at Le Bourget, and the rules for every other flight were set out in a supplement to the French AIP. The 2027 supplement will be published nearer the show; until then, the 2025 rules are the best guide.

Restrictions start before the gates open. The 2025 show ran from 16 to 22 June, but rehearsal airspace was active from 9 June and accreditation for Le Bourget applied from 11 June. The 2027 show opens the day after the 24 Hours of Le Mans finishes, so trips combining the two need the Paris leg planned around the show.

What Le Bourget required at the 2025 show

These rules come from the French AIP supplement for the 2025 show (AIP SUP 047/25). The 2027 supplement will be issued nearer the event.

  • No aeroplane arrivals or departures during the flying displays: 11:30 to 14:30 UTC from 11 to 19 June, and 10:30 to 15:30 UTC from 20 to 22 June, with a 30-minute buffer either side.
  • Parking was reserved for show aircraft and aircraft of based operators. Arrival and departure slots were limited and could be fewer than requested.
  • Crews and aircraft using Le Bourget from 11 to 22 June needed prefectoral accreditation, requested at least seven days before the flight, with the number entered in the flight plan.
  • Aircraft with a wingspan over 52 m were not accepted unless taking part in the show.
  • Le Bourget could not be filed as an alternate while the show airspace was active.
  • A temporary helicopter area operated from 11 to 22 June, and every helicopter movement was coordinated through an FBO.

The last leg

Getting to the showground

Arranged car

Ride-hailing cars were not given access to the airport in 2025, and private vehicles had to be registered in advance. Book transport through your ground handler and expect heavy traffic around Le Bourget.

Helicopter

In 2025 the temporary helicopter area at Le Bourget ran from 05:00 to 17:00 local on show days. Connection flights from the Paris heliport at Issy-les-Moulineaux (LFPI) stayed open on set routes.

Customs

Cash over €10,000 and goods or valuables over €430 must be declared on arrival or departure. Expect extra security checks on the airfield.
