How the trip works
Dubai International is the closest, about 15 minutes from Meydan, but needs slots for every movement and restricts parking. Al Maktoum International is about 40 minutes away, with slots usually easy to get and no parking restrictions. Sharjah, about 30 minutes, needs no slots.
The World Cup headlines a UAE racing season of 64 meetings across five racecourses. Meydan sits about 12 km from Downtown Dubai.
At Dubai International, approved slots are valid for 15 minutes either side and peak-hour slots are hard to get, so request them as soon as the schedule is fixed. Wide-body jets may be limited to drop and go.
Al Maktoum is the simpler choice for most private flights: about 25 minutes by road to Jumeirah and the Palm, and about 30 minutes to the financial district. See our Dubai page for routes and estimates.
