How the Parintins trip works
Fly to Manaus (SBEG), then on to Parintins (SWPI), about an hour by air. Parintins has a 1,801 m asphalt runway about 5 km from the town centre. There is no road from Manaus, and boats take 8 to 24 hours.
Parintins is an island town in the Amazon River, and its festival fills the island each June. About 120,000 tourists came in 2024, in a town of about 112,000 people.
The festival has run in the last week of June in recent years: 27 to 29 June 2025 and 26 to 28 June 2026, the 59th edition. The Bumbódromo holds about 25,000 spectators by one count and 35,000 by another.
Hotels are few. Many visitors fly in from Manaus and back the same day, and rooms book out weeks ahead. A private flight lets you do the same on your own timetable, or stay in Manaus between nights.
Air traffic peaks around the festival: in 2024 the tower handled 980 movements over twelve days, with 172 on 1 July, the day after the final night. See private jet charter in Manaus for flights to the city.

When to book
- 01Watch for the dates
The festival announces each year's dates. In 2026 it ran on the last weekend of June.
- 02Book the aircraft early
Azul put 178 extra flights on sale in April 2026 for 23 June to 2 July, and fares passed R$3,500 in festival week. Private aircraft are in demand over the same days.
- 03Plan the return day
The busiest day at the airport in 2024 was the day after the final night. An early departure or a stay in Manaus avoids the peak.
