How the trip works
At EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, about 15 minutes from the city centre. In fair week most business flights were limited to a one-hour stopover in 2025, so jets drop passengers and reposition, usually to Zurich, about 49 nautical miles away.
Art Basel 2026 drew about 90,000 visitors from 103 countries to 290 galleries. Traffic peaks at the start: one Basel FBO recorded ten times its average daily movements on the opening day in 2019.
EuroAirport sits on French soil with a Swiss sector, and arriving passengers choose whether to clear into Switzerland or France. Customs at the FBO lounge takes about 10 to 20 minutes.

What EuroAirport required in 2025
A NOTAM covered 16 to 21 June 2025. The 2027 rules will be published nearer the fair.
- A ground handler was mandatory for all flights.
- Most business aviation flights were limited to a one-hour stopover, and there was no overnight parking on the main ramp.
- Longer parking was only possible by private arrangement with the maintenance providers on the field.
- Business aviation hours were 06:00 to 22:00 local, with no overtime.
- No slots or prior permission were required, though emergency slots could be introduced if congestion built up.
