How the trip works
Land at Bern, Zurich or Sion, then go by car or helicopter to Lauterbrunnen, which has a heliport, and take the rack railway up to Wengen in about 14 minutes. Wengen is car-free, so no transfer reaches the village by road.
The Lauberhorn downhill measured 4.27 km in 2019, the longest on the World Cup circuit, and the races draw about 30,000 spectators a year. Tickets for 2027 go on sale online on 2 November 2026.
Bern needs no slots, has customs and border police on site, and the local helicopter and limousine companies meet aircraft. Swiss Helicopter has bases at Bern-Belp and at Gsteigwiler near Interlaken. See our Bern page for routes and estimates.
The races end the day before the World Economic Forum opens on 18 January, when Zurich's Forum parking rules apply, so check them before leaving a jet at Zurich. Mountain helicopter flights depend on the weather, and the car and train stay booked as the fallback.

Helicopter and train to Wengen
Lauterbrunnen has a heliport, and the Wengernalp railway climbs from Lauterbrunnen station to Wengen in about 14 minutes. A helicopter from Bern, Zurich or Sion to the valley avoids winter roads; whether it can land nearer the course depends on the operator's landing permissions, which we confirm on the quote.
Hospitality tickets include a free shuttle from the VIP car park to Grindelwald Terminal or Lauterbrunnen and preferential access to the Wengernalp railway. A helicopter charter runs at about CHF 1'310 to CHF 3'820 per flight hour for the whole aircraft.
