How the trip works
Munich Airport (EDDM), about 28 km north-east of the city, which has a dedicated general aviation terminal open 06:00 to 22:00. Oberpfaffenhofen, about 22 km south-west, handles only general and business aviation.
IAA Mobility is held every two years in Munich and organised by the VDA, the German automotive industry association. The 2025 edition drew about 500,000 visitors and 750 exhibitors.
The show has two halves. The IAA Summit for trade visitors, media and decision-makers is at Messe München, the trade fair centre. The IAA Open Space, with the Siegestor stage, test drives and a cycling test track in the English Garden, is in the city centre.
Munich Airport is slot-coordinated, so request a slot as soon as your schedule is known. The general aviation terminal is on the east side of the airport and is not served by public transport, so we book a car to the Messe or your hotel. Munich Airport has the general aviation terminal and customs. Oberpfaffenhofen is closer to the south-west of the city but is not an airport of entry and is normally closed on Sundays, and the show ends on a Sunday.
- 03Book the car
There is no public transport to the general aviation terminal, so we arrange the car to Messe München or the city centre.
