Overview

How the trip works

How do you fly private to the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe?

Fly to Paris Le Bourget (LFPB), about 11 km from central Paris, then drive to ParisLongchamp in the Bois de Boulogne on the western edge of the city. Le Bourget does not normally need slots and clears customs at the FBO.

From 2027 the Arc is open to geldings for the first time, after the European Pattern Committee approved a France Galop proposal in September 2026.

The racecourse sits between the Seine and the Bois de Boulogne in the 16th arrondissement and holds about 50,000 spectators. Le Bourget is on the north-eastern side of Paris, so the transfer crosses the city; Universal Weather puts the drive from Le Bourget to central Paris alone at 20 minutes to 1.5 hours.

Jets cannot take off from Le Bourget between 22:15 and 06:00, so a same-evening return after racing has to leave before the cut-off. Our Paris page shows routes and estimates, and empty legs into Paris can suit a flexible weekend.

The last leg

Le Bourget to ParisLongchamp

Car

The usual last leg. Your FBO arranges a driver to meet the aircraft. Allow for traffic across Paris: 20 minutes to 1.5 hours to the centre alone.

Helicopter

Published helicopter routes link Le Bourget with the Paris heliport at Issy-les-Moulineaux (LFPI); the last stretch is still by car.

Arriving late

Le Bourget accepts arrivals around the clock and clears customs at the FBO 24 hours a day, so a Saturday night arrival is straightforward.
