How the trip works
The 2026 to 2027 dates are not announced yet. The last edition ran from 18 December 2025 to 10 January 2026. Fly to AlUla International (OEAO), open 24 hours with a business aviation hangar and FBO, about 25 minutes by road from AlUla town.
Winter at Tantora is AlUla's cultural festival, named after the Tantora sundial that locals used to mark the start of the winter planting season. Events are spread across the Old Town, the AlJadidah Arts District, the AlManshiyah railway district and Maraya, the mirrored concert venue.
The last edition had concerts at Maraya, including Wael Kfoury on 19 December and Elissa on 9 January, open-air Thanaya concerts between the canyons, Old Town Nights dinner shows and weekend carnivals in AlManshiyah.
The festival overlaps with AlUla's other winter dates: Ultra Gobi AlUla runs from 13 to 20 January 2027, and AlUla Desert Polo is usually held in mid-January. See private jet charter to AlUla for the airport.

What to know before you fly into Saudi Arabia
- Landing permits from the General Authority of Civil Aviation are required for all private and charter flights, with a minimum lead time of 72 hours. Your operator files them with full crew and passenger details.
- Jeddah (OEJN), Riyadh (OERK) and Dammam (OEDF) are 24-hour airports of entry; Jeddah and Riyadh have FBOs and full services.
- Alcohol on board must be sealed in a locked, numbered bar before arrival and stay sealed on the ground. Expect full aircraft searches.
- Saudi Arabia lifted cabotage restrictions in May 2025.
