Flying in for art week
Toluca (MMTO), the main business aviation airport for Mexico City, about 60 minutes by road from the city depending on traffic. Mexico City International is closed to general aviation except for official government business.
Zona Maco was founded in 2003 by Zélika García and is held each February at Centro Citibanamex. In 2026 it brought together more than 200 galleries from 27 countries, with four fairs running at once.
The four fairs are contemporary art, design, the antiques salon and photography. In 2026 a day ticket cost 475 pesos, the opening day 570 pesos and a five-day platinum pass 6,300 pesos.

Customs at Toluca
- Customs, immigration and quarantine must always be cleared in Mexico, even for a short stop.
- At Toluca clearance can take up to two hours, and all bags come off the aircraft for inspection.
