Acapulco International (MMAA), about 20 km south-east of the town. It is open 24 hours, is an airport of entry with customs and has a 10,827 ft runway, with no slots or prior permission listed. The Arena GNP Seguros is in the Punta Diamante area, about 9 km in a straight line from the airport.
The tournament began in 1993 and is an ATP 500 event on hard courts, with 32 singles players, 16 doubles teams and a purse of US$2,469,450. About 75,000 people attended in 2025, and the organisers said 2026 was slightly above that.
Matches are played in the evening. In 2026 the main draw started at 18:00 on most days and the final began at 18:30 on the Saturday, so a morning arrival leaves time to clear customs and check in.
