What does a private jet broker do?

Brokers source the right aircraft and price; operators fly it. Here is how the model protects you.

Broker versus operator

An operator holds the FAA Part 135 certificate and operational control of the flight. A broker such as Altivo Jets acts as your agent: we compare operators, negotiate the price and manage the trip.

Your rights under Part 295

Brokers must disclose that they are brokers, name the operator and give the total price before you sign, and refund you within 20 days if a flight does not operate.

How we vet operators

Certificate checks, insurance, third-party safety audits (ARGUS, Wyvern) where held, and crew experience.

Written and reviewed by the Altivo Jets charter desk. Prices and regulations change; we review this page regularly. Last updated October 2026.

Ask a specialist
Is it safe to book through a broker?+

Yes, when the broker names a properly certificated operator and follows Part 295.
