Flying private to Super Bowl LXI
Hawthorne Municipal (HHR) is the closest airport to SoFi Stadium, with a 4,884 ft runway; Van Nuys, Burbank, Long Beach, LAX, John Wayne and Ontario are the usual alternatives. When SoFi last hosted, in 2022, the FAA required reservations at eight Los Angeles area airports, so book the aircraft and the slot early.
Super Bowl LXI kicks off at 6:30 PM Eastern on Sunday 14 February 2027 at SoFi Stadium, the second time it has hosted. Expect the airports around Los Angeles to run a reservation program again.
For Super Bowl LVI at SoFi in 2022, the FAA reservation program ran 6 to 14 February at LAX, Van Nuys, Burbank, Long Beach, Hawthorne, John Wayne, Ontario and San Bernardino. Slots were tighter than at the two previous Florida Super Bowls.
The Monday after is the crunch. After Super Bowl LX in February 2026, nearly 600 business jets left the Bay Area, three times a normal day; the record is just over 950 after Super Bowl LVII in Phoenix.
The FAA had not published the LXI program by October 2026. We will update this page when it does.
